This is about as fast of a read as you'll ever come across. It's wildly entertaining and witty and pretty funny.But I just get the feeling that Douglas Adams took everything too seriously -- mostly people taking themselves and their "stuff" too seriously. Adams tries so hard to trivialize thought and philosophy and religion that he comes off as petty.
Also, if Earth and its inhabitants are so insignficant compared to the breadth and vastness of the universe, then it really doesn't matter how we behave and how we treat each other. Just a confluence of ambiguous points.
